Jessca Ynez Simmons

As a multi-hyphenated filmmaker, she is compelled by her fascination with form and life's contradictory forces. She often employs a sensorial approach, exploring ways for form to be an extension of content. 

Her work has screened at festivals including the Austin Film Festival, Hot Docs, and the St. Louis Int’l Film Festival, and at community screenings hosted at Buddy Guy’s Legends, the Chicago History Museum, and the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts. She received the Director’s Award for Artistic Merit at the Santa Cruz Film Festival for her mid-length documentary I CAN ONLY BE MARY LANE

 

Tom Kender

Tom Kender studied journalism and mass communication at The University of Oklahoma. Author of The Jer, a collection of short stories. Kender is a local Daytonian who’s life was portrayed in Got Your Back at DIFF 2023. He has also written about his life, journey and experience as it relates to Dayton, OH.


Matthew (Matt) Barker

Matthew (Matt) Barker is a graduate of the University of Toledo. Barker has a bachelor’s degree in film and video. Since graduation, he has worked at New Image Media, Inc. in the Cleveland area. In his current role he is both a video editor and studio manager. Barker has experience in video production, animation, graphics and photography for marketers.


Tej Joshi

Tej Joshi is a daytime/morning television host and content creator! Right now, he hosts Good Day Dayton, a lifestyle TV show in the Miami Valley. Joshi is a graduate from the University of Miami in Florida, where he studied broadcast journalism. Since graduating, he has worked as a writer, producer and television host. Joshi has a lively personality and is well known in the Miami Valley for his role on Good Day Dayton.
